The Knox County School District will hold a School Board election on August 4, 2022.
District 4 residents will choose between Will Edwards and Katherine Bike. Click on each candidate’s name to learn about their positions.

District 4 CANDIDATES

Will Edwards is a father of two, attorney, and has served as a co-chair of a parent advisory council for Knox County Schools and its special needs students and parents.


Edwards is running as a Republican.


Edwards is focused on “student achievement and success” as well as “protecting parents’ rights.”


Among Edwards’ top priorities is putting more adults into classrooms “such as teaching assistants and parent volunteers.”


Edwards is on the Education Committee of the Tennessee Council on Autism Spectrum Disorder and is an East Tennessee Representative to the Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities.


Edwards is endorsed by County Commissioner Kyle Ward.

Katherine Bike is a mother of two, Trial Technology Specialist, and mentor with Little Bellas Knoxville Chapter.


Bike is running for School Board as a Democrat.


Bike strongly opposes charter schools claiming that voucher programs “drain public tax dollars into private schools.”


Knox County Democrats have voiced support for Bike’s position on voucher programs.


Bike frequently promotes content from Democratic political leaders including Democrat State Representative Gloria Johnson and former Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton.


Bike is a community advocate working to “ensure equitable and rigorous education opportunities for every child.”
